This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.
It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.

The regular season starts this Friday, March 29. The opening day match ups are:

Tigers vs Swallows (Jingu Kyujyo)
BayStars vs Dragons (Nagoya Dome)
Fighters vs Lions (Seibu Dome in Saitama)
Buffaloes vs Marines (QVC Stadium - in Chiba)
Eagles vs Hawks (Yafu-Oku Dome - in Fukuoka)
The 85th Annual Invitational High School Baseball Tournament (also known as "Spring Koshien") began this past Friday, March 22nd and will run for 13 days (extended for rain outs, which there usually are). We've already had a few good games and some blow outs. The intensity of the Koshien tournament is always enjoyable.
Also, look for the Japan Baseball Weekly Podcast tomorrow, March 25th. Topics will include the WBC, a chat with Bert Byleven, and predictions for the upcoming season. Be sure to tune in.
