Did anybody notice that the 2nd bracket (lover left) could be the bracket of death?

Tokoha Kikugawa, Chiba Keizai, Imabari Nishi, and Yokohama are all in the same bracket and perhaps have to go through 2 of the 3 teams to get to the Best 4. The other schools will have their work cut out for them, that's for sure.

Toyou Himeji, Chiben Wakayama, and Uji Yamada highlight the 3rd bracket while Tenri, Seikou Gakuin, and Chuukyou Daigaku Chuukyou Koukou highlight the 4th.

Don't know who's going to come out of the 1st one though. Perhaps Kagoshima Kougyou, but it seems that, like Nagasaki Nihon last year, the trip to the Best 4 will be easiest through there.

Wait a minute, where did these brackets come from?

Am I misunderstanding it, or... is Kanto Ichi on there twice for Tokyo? And Kumamoto twice? Looking at the schedule on asahi.com things don't seem to match up right, although maybe I'm not entirely sure how these brackets work.

(Offhand that's all I spotted so far, to be fair I only saw the Koshien groups on TV last night for a few seconds, but they too mentioned that there was a really nasty bracket with Imabari Nishi and Yokohama.)

Fixed.

These are mine, I've been using a prior template I obtained to make the new ones.

Apologies for the double insertion. I thought I had checked these before posting them.

Oh yeah, it looks like they expanded the field this year. 4 new teams have been added. I noticed one more 21st century team, and I don't know if that last team mentioned is a university qualifier anymore.

I've created a similar bracket in English for the Kanji impaired.

I also noticed that some of the times were different than what the legend claimed on Ayato-san's table.

I've updated the English brackets with scores up through Day 9 (Sunday, March 30).

Like all of you, I look forward to Kamina Ayato-san's heartful commentary, something that Kyodo News can't duplicate.
