There was something on this on TV this evening. Apparently the head of MK Taxi feels that the loss of the [Nankai] Hawks and the Buffaloes from Osaka is a travesty, that Osaka is inherently a strong baseball city, and that having an Osaka team will benefit the city and baseball itself; and he has decided to do something about it.
His proposed system of a company "owning" a player and "renting" him to the team is interesting, but at this early stage I wonder if it is not an admission that no team in Kansai can truly compete with the Tigers on normal terms.
