As always, your attention to detail is very much appriciated. While other bloggers seemed to only be interested in who got Kikuchi (he's already falling into the same blind spot I have for Ichiro with his over-exposure), you took the time to reproduce the more detailed information we get from the Japanese press.
But more than just the table of draftees, you've actually seen most of the college guys play and have great first hand analysis of them. That's insight that the rest of the English Yakyu community (professional journalists and bloggers) don't have. (And no, you're not chopped liver. You beat a nut with a mic and spreadsheet hands down. And the only "insight" Gen offered was translations of press-release sanitized quotes from various managers, coaches, and players.)

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

Discrepancies in height/weight are due to the fact that Shube, Sanspo, Sportsnavi, the team sites themselves AND the players' previous teams ALL list different numbers for these guys! I will tell you that the 115 for Ryoji Nakata is not a typo, though -- that guy is HUGE. He looks like a sumo wrestler.
I noticed that the last few years when posting these here, we've called the draft that happened in late 200x the 200x+1 draft, so I continued that trend with this post title, but I do apologize if it is a little confusing.
By the way, the "televised draft" was mostly a letdown. The only exciting part was getting to watch the guys do the lottery for Kikuchi, and after the first round the TBS broadcast degenerated into just talking about the first round picks rather than showing us the latter picks, so it's just as well that I couldn't see it for more than an hour.
