April 9, 2009 - Dan Johnson suffered a contusion on his left shoulder while attempting to catch a foul fly in the top of the 2nd inning of the April 8th game against the Yomiuri Giants. He was taken out of the game for a pinch hitter in the bottom half of the inning. Johnson did not go to the hospital, instead icing his shoulder.I don't see the English NPB-BIS system as a step in the right direction. They basically re-enabled a system that they (or actually IBM-BIS, their predecessor in managing the data) already had working back in the mid 1990s. To me it looks like a giant leap backward. I guess it's something, though.
This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.
It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
