Softbank Asks Oh to Stay
Softbank president Masayoshi Son said he asked manager Sadaharu Oh to stay with the Hawks for the long term. Also, they asked Oh to consider taking the post of GM. [Link - Japan Ball]

I believe Koji Akiyama is the current manager of the ni-gun Hawks team, [rhetorical question] could this be a step? From what I've heard from the players, they're not too fond of Oh as a manager. I probably don't think Oh will stop as manager, because you'd be ridding the public-ness of Oh, especially coming after two first place finishes.

Nemoto (manager before Oh) moved to the position of GM, and in the long term, built up a very strong Hawks team, taking them from the laughing stock of the Pacific League to a yearly contender.
