This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.
It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.

While Kurota gave up 5 hits in the game, the only Dragon to reach second base was Arai. Arai had beat out an infield single with two down in the bottom of the 8th, then stole second before Ibata popped out to first.
And before you all start worrying that Kurota is getting over worked like Matsuzaka (who threw 156 pitches before being taken out with two down in the 9th last night), in his last 5 games Kurota has thrown 139, 109, 116, 105, and 126 pitches. What's more, he has only given up 2 earned runs on August 15th against Hanshin, shut out Chunichi on August 22nd, gave up 1 unearned run in each of his August 28th (against Yokohama) and September 5th (against Yakult) starts, then shut out Chunichi yet again last night (September 11th). That's 4 games in a row without giving up an earned run.
For Chunichi, this was the 14th time this season that they'd been blanked.
Still 8 games out of first, the Carp are starting to see some Swallow tail feathers.
