Former Whale, Tiger Nagasaki in Upper House Election
The Asahi Shimbun [in Japanese] reports that Keiichi Nagasaki, formerly of the Taiyo Whales and Hanshin Tigers, has been approved by the Democratic Party of Japan as a proportional-representation constituency candidate in the upcoming House of Councilors election.

According to the article, Nagasaki, who was the Central League's leading batter in 1982 with Taiyo, was elected to the ward assembly of Arakawa-ku, Tokyo, in 2003 and served one term.

I seem to recall that Enatsu also tried to get elected as Osaka governor.
