"This is like the playoffs," Hawks slugger Julio Zuleta said after his five RBIs beat the Lions at Invoice Seibu Dome on Monday. "These guys [the Lions] are going out to win, so you've got to play hard. Everyone is giving 100 percent all the time. It makes you play better."
This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.
It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.

- The Inter-league games will be reduced to 24 in number out of a total of 144 games in each league. The Central League wanted a reduction to 18 games but accepted a compromise. I believe the Pacific League will continue to start a week earlier though.
- The top team in the League at the end of the season will be the League Champion in both leagues, but in the Central League no longer advances to the Japan Series as of right.
- The top three teams will play each other for the right to advance to the Japan Series. The first series ("First Stage") will be between the third and second place teams with the winner playing the League Champion for the right to advance to the Japan Series.
Both sides have shown an ability to compromise and have eliminated some of the absurdities that existed before.
