High School North American Tour
Those of you in the Cooperstown and Los Angeles areas who didn't get enough of the pitching of Waseda's Saitoh and Kumadai's Tanaka have a chance to see them again - live! The Koshien idols will be joining an All-Japan high school team that will be heading to North America this week.

Their first stop will be New York, where they'll arrive on August 29 (local time), then head to Cooperstown on the 30th. The All-Japan team will face an Eastern U.S. team for a double header in (or near) Cooperstown on August 31.

The kids will then move to Los Angeles on September 1, and play 3 games against a Western U.S. team on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th.

The Koshien stars will then visit dignitaries at the Embassy in L.A. on the 5th, and take in an Angels' game, then depart for Japan on the 7th.

Wow, a busy schedule, but a great chance to see the kids live! Hopefully someone here will attend some of the games for a report or two.

Just adding on from Michael said, it will be a Orioles-Angels game at Angels Stadium. Hopefully, I might catch a glimpse of them while watching the Orioles game that day on TV.

This is not clear. Are they playing at Angel Stadium before the Oriole/Angel game?

The Japan team was victorious in the first game against Eastern U.S. team. The starter was Saitoh Yuuki, the winning pitcher in this summer's Koshien. Saitoh pitched 4 strong innings, holding his opponents scoreless and giving up only 4 hits and 1 walk, while striking out 8.

The Japan team won 5-1 in the first game of the double header.

Komadai's ace Tanaka came in in the 7th inning and pitched the rest of the match, striking out 3 batters in the process.
