No More Monday PA League

Discussion in the NPB News forum
No More Monday PA League
The Pacific League announced that it would no longer be continuing its "Monday Pacific League" activities, due to the playoffs and Inter-League games. In 2001 the Pacific League introduced Monday games as a way to promote the PL, being that Central League teams take Monday off. Pacific League president Tadao Koike stated, "We've been holding Monday Pacific League for four years now, and I think we've accomplished our goal of 'Pacific League Rejuvenation.' With the introduction of the playoffs and Inter-League games, the scheduling changed, and based on the clubs' and players' opinions, all 6 clubs agreed (to stop Monday Pacific League)." About

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
