This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. The only base runner for the Giants was Takayuki Shimizu, who led off the bottom of the fourth with a walk, but was stranded there. Hideki Matsui went 0 for 3, striking out all three plate appearances.
This was the first no-hitter thrown since Narciso Elvira threw one against Kintetsu on June 20, 2000 against Seibu. The last time the Giants fell victim to a no-hitter was August 11, 1996 at the hands of Chunichi's Shigeki Noguchi.
