Yomiuri Signs Taiwanese National Team Pitcher
The Giants signed pitcher Chiang Chien-Ming of the Taiwanese National Team. Chiang, 20 years old, was a key starter on the Taiwanese National Team in May when they played in the Asian Baseball Championship in Miyazaki. He will make a salary of 5 million (500-man) yen ($45,440 - 1 JPY = 0.009088 USD) and report to the Giants' farm-league team.

Yomiuri will continue to allow Chiang to be enrolled at the National College of Physical Education and Sports, a sports college in Taiwan.

About

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
