Sasaki leaves Seattle

Discussion in the NPB News forum
Sasaki leaves Seattle
Kaz Sasaki has been given leave by Seattle to take care of "Family matters" and will be out indefinately. No one on this side of the Pacific will elaborate. Can anyone in Japan elaborate?

BTW, Ichiro single handedly killed the Red Sox' 10 game win streak tonight.

That article is more descriptive than today's Nikkan Sports. The single paragraph just states that the Mariners' PR released a statement that Sasaki met with the CEO, GM, and kantoku to say he had some "private family business" to take care of. Upon arrival at Narita, Sasaki's only comment was, "It's a private matter."

So, the race will probably be on by the various tabloids to be the first to break what' up.
