Woods Suspended for 10 Games
The Central League suspended Chunichi Dragon first baseman Tyrone Woods for 10 games and fined him 500,000 yen for his role in a brawl, Thursday. On Thursday, Woods charged the mound and punched Swallows' pitcher Shugo Fujii.

Woods becomes the first player to be suspended since Carp infielder Takahiro Arai was suspended one game in 2003. Woods has the longest suspension since former Yomiuri Giants' pitcher Darrell May was suspended also for 10 days and fined 500,000 yen in June 2000.

About

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
