More CPBL Signings
The La New Bears have marked their territory with slugging third baseman Eduardo Rios, whom they plucked out of Mexico from the Aguascalientes Railroadmen. The Bears are hoping for big things from this 33 year old cub who batted .319 with 31 home runs and 111 RBIs in 105 games this year. However the right handed hitter is no stranger to the Bears' den. He has played two seasons in the CPBL before with a .270 mark and six homers in 45 games.

Meanwhile, the President Lions have signed former Major League pitcher Leo Estrella to a contract. The 31 year old was 7-3 with a 4.94 ERA in 62 Major League appearances. He was a Giant in San Francisco last season. This season the righty has played with a Laguna Cowboys and Veracruz Reds of the Mexican League where he went 3-6 with a 4.36 ERA in 46 games.

Finally, the Makoto Cobras have picked up left handed pitcher Kevin Pickford. The 30 year old has has brought his suitcase around as he's been with numerous Triple-A organizations.

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
