Where's Kei Igawa?

Where's Kei Igawa?
Hi there!

Is there someone who's got news about Kei Igawa? I haven't heard a word about him during this off-season.

He's still a Yankee, right? Will he come back in NPB?

Thanks a lot.

He is probably at home playing shogi. The guy never had the heart to pitch in the MLB. I don't say this often, but he is one of the very few Japanese players who thought he could just ease his way to pitch in the MLB.

He is still a Yankee.

Girardi and Eiland do not currently have him in the rotation.

Last I read he was in the Yankee farm system, I recall Scranton.

It's amazing the Yankees went after him and paid so much. Clearly they do not understand baseball here in Japan. No Hanshin fan would have advised the Yankees to put him in their rotation, but the Yankees do have incredible funds to waste if they wish to do so.

I hope he'll come back one day at the top level he had in 2003.

Thanks for your answers!

One report had him dangled as trade bait.
