This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.
It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.

Taiwan scored 11 runs in the first two innings en route to their biggest win of the preliminary round. The Canadians, now 1-5, were limited to just three hits.
Baseball is not that popular in Canada. Jeff Francis used to pitch for the University of British Columbia and he's been phenomenal in Triple-A for Colorado Springs in the Colorado Rockies' organization. Adam Loewen was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles, and of course everybody knows Larry Walker.
The Montreal Expos are about to move, the Toronto Blue Jays are struggling at the gate, Vancouver now has a Single-A Canadians team after the Triple-A squad moved to Sacramento, the Cannons moved to the Mexican League from Calgary, and the Edmonton Trappers are about to move to Texas. The Ottawa Lynx are about to become the only Triple-A franchise in Canada.
Taiwan seems to have a lot of young talent, evidenced by all the Little League wins, but these players rarely end up in the Major Leagues.
