CPBL Season Begins!
The Chinese Professional Baseball League's 15th season will being with the Sinon Bulls playing the Brother Elephants. Taiwan President Chen Sui-bian will throw out the first pitch. American Jonathan Hurst will take the mound for the Elephants while Yang Chien-fu will start for the Bulls.

Meanwhile, the President Lions have announced the signings of three foreign pitchers: Jose Alberro, Michael Garcia, and a former NPB player in Masami Ishikawa.

The 36 year old Garcia played for the Ottawa Lynx of the International League last season. He had a 2.55 ERA in 34 games (35.1 innings). The Leos are expecting him to be a starter. His best season was when he pitched 180.1 innings (2.55 ERA in 28 starts) when he was 22.
About

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
