This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.
It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.

The luck of a journalist is usually few and far between. But this past Saturday (April 27th, 2002), I got to witness my first no-hitter thrown by Boston Red Sox pitcher, Derek Lowe.
Lowe, 27, brought the fans of the Red Sox to there collective feet from about the second out of the seventh frame. It was not only a magical moment, but to share it with the fans of the Red Sox, was that much sweeter.
My question to you is this: In North America, there are two storied franchises that have struggled to reach the pinnacle of greatness in at least 50 years. The Chicago Cubs and the Boston Red Sox. Both have had many strong teams over the years, but never have they been able to get over the playoff hump.
Are there any comparisons in Japan that could compare to that of the struggles of these two American teams? Is there one in particular that stands out to you?
Drop me a line and be creative.
