Saw that. Rats! I wanted to see him pitch in person. Still, Kida did all right today -- 2 ER in 5 IP. He lost, but there's no shame in losing to Mark Prior.

Kida pitched well enough, but Sammy Sosa tagged him for two RBIs, and he was up against Mark Prior, one of the finest of the fine young arms in MLB. The Dodgers could only get one run off him, and Kida took the loss. All-in-all, though, I think it was an excellent first MLB start for him.

The Dodgers don't bat well on any day.
Kida was the second emergency starter the Dodgers have used this year, and both actually did farely well. The other one, Scott Mullen, has been called up to replace Kida who went back to Las Vegas.

Kida will be started on September 27th. This is his second time starting this season.

Now that the Dodgers' season is officially over they can use second level pitchers like Kida.
They need to improve their offense.

Maybe Kida will play all season for the Dodgers next year! Because this year he played solid!
