Kobe Day at Seattle Mariners/Japan Night
I just received the following info and hope BigManZam, Diane, Hillsy, and others can join us (I will have Hanshin Tigers away cap)!

Come cheer on Ichiro and Kenji as the Seattle Mariners take on the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. Enjoy a fun summer evening at the ballpark with SKSCA members and friends. Our small event this year is in conjunction with the Mariners'Japan Night at Safeco Field.

Japan Night's special elements will include: a Mariners hat giveaway at our section (showing ticket stub), pre-game taiko drumming, Echo Chorus singing the national anthem, and a special guest throwing out the ceremonial first pitch. And our SKSCA section will have SKSCA rally towels!

"Diane"? Heh.

I was planning to go to that game because I think Scott Kazmir is pitching that night for the Devil Rays, but I was just going to buy tickets at the gate. If we want to sit together as a japanesebaseball.com group, would that mean we would all have to order tickets together in the special section? Did anyone else get tickets already... could we somehow coordinate this? (I'm replying this in email too)

I coooould wear a Hanshin jersey, but I think I'd prefer to stick with my Fighters one

The Kobe group section will have 42 seats (probably in the 320/323 section). There was good mix of Japanese, Americans, and Japanese-Americans last year.
I could order your ticket with mine if you want - just let me know the quantity. That goes for anyone else.

Well, I didn't catch this thread in time for last year's game, but it looks like they have a date set for "Japan Night" for this upcoming season. I believe I will try and go (even though it's a Monday) this year.
