Article on SI about World Cup baseball
There is an article at CNNSI about MLB working with other countries to have a World Cup of baseball.

The article [SI/CNN] also has potential lineups for some of the countries involved if the games were held today.

Talk of a "World Cup" or a World Championship between existing professional champions (MLB, NPB, etc.) has brought false expectations in many of us for years. MLB has always downplayed the talent of other leagues -- rival leagues, Negro Leagues, Japanese Leagues, or has "colonized" Latin baseball. I doubt that MLB, especially under Bud Selig, will allow a true World Cup unless MLB had "total" and "absolute" control.

We keep hoping, but Bud is only giving "lip service."
