This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.
It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.

I've been assigned to do some research on the Korean professional baseball draft on behalf of a certain MLB team. I thought this would be the perfect place to get some great advice and information. I was wondering if, by any chance, anyone knew any general information about the Korean Baseball Organization draft? I was wondering if anyone could help me answer a few questions about how the pro Korean baseball draft works. This is quite urgent and if someone can help I would be very grateful. If you can help me out with these questions that woud be great.
- What are the dates the 2 drafts are held this year?
- What is the basic format of the draft? ie: How many rounds?
- Signability?
- Average salary given to players drafted in certain rounds?
- Just about anything about how the draft works?
- If the players drafted are primarily high school or college players or both?
- Are players from other countries subject to the draft?
- How long a team has to sign a draft pick before they relinquish their rights?
- How supplemental or compensatory picks work if there is such a thing?
- Any other information you think is important pertaining to the draft.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
