Former U.S. Major Leaguer Seo Jae-weong has signed with his hometown team Kia Tigers.

The team announced Friday that the two sides reached an agreement for a 1.5 billion won ($1.6 million) contract.

It's nice to see Seo with a team that he has the potential to do well with. My impression of this is he wants to also be able to play with Korea in the 2008 Olympics, too, which is something he would be unable to do if he was on a Major League roster. Despite how poorly he did, there was sure to be some team that would have offered him at least a minor league contract.

Good luck to Seo in his Korean baseball career.
