Dongdaemun Baseball Stadium To Be Demolished
At the Korea baseball pro league’s opening game between MBC (currently LG) and Samsung, held at the Dongdaemun Baseball Stadium on March 27, 1982, Lee Jong-do (MBC) was in the batter’s box with all the bases loaded after two outs in the tenth inning. After leaving two balls, Lee hit a game-winning grand slam from Samsung’s ace left-handed pitcher Lee Seon-hui.

Well, it's not a surprise since the stadium had been used as a place for local swap meets.

As I recall back in 2002/2003, there were some rumblings about rebuilding the stadium, but with land prices being what they are in Seoul, coupled with all the shopping development that has gone on around the stadium, it's not surprising they are going to blow it up.

Even if they are going to play there again, they would need to do some serious renovation as the way it stands, the facility is very dilapidated.

Just to follow up on what they are going to do after they blow up the stadium, the powers-that-be have decided to build a park.
