The May 21, 2003 Korea Times [Link] highlights Tuesday's KBO action.

Hanwha Eagles 2 - Samsung Lions 2 (12 innings):
Jin Kab-yong drove in the tying run on a single in the ninth inning to keep the Lions from losing in Taejon. The game ended in a tie after 12 innings.

LG Twins 5 - Hyundai Unicorns 4 (10 innings):
Choi Dong-soo drove in the winning run for the Twins with a single in the bottom of the 10th inning. Lee Sang-hoon was the winner and Cho Yong-joon took the loss for the Unicorns in Chamsil.

SK Wyverns 6 - Doosan Bears 5:
Kim Dong-joo's grand slam home run in a five run Bears' eigth inning wasn't enough to overcome the Wyverns in Inchon. Cho Ung-chun notched his 10th save of 2003 by shutting down Doosan batters in the ninth inning.

Kia Tigers 6 - Lotte Giants 0:
Daniel Rios beat the Giants by striking out eight batters, yielding only four hits and one walk in seven innings in Kwangju.

The May 22, 2003 Korea Times [Link] highlights Wednesday's KBO games.

Hanwha Eagles 3 - Samsung Lions 1:
Jung Min-chul (5-2) beat the Lions allowing only one run, two hits, and two walks in 5 2/3 innings in Taejon to end the Eagles' 12-game losing streak.

LG Twins 4 - Hyundai Unicorns 3:
Former Chunichi Dragon and Boston Red Sox pitcher Lee Sang-hoon earned his ninth save of 2003 for the Twins in Seoul.

SK Wyverns 7 - Doosan Bears 5:
Cho Kyung-hwan blasted solo home runs in the sixth and eigth innings to help defeat the Bears in Inchon. Kim Ki-tae hit a two run homer in the second inning. Cho Ung-chun picked up his 11th save yielding two hits in 1 2/3 innings.

Kia Tigers 3 - Lotte Giants 2:
Jin Pil-jung also notched his 11th save striking out three batters in 1 2/3 innings in Kwangju.

The May 22, 2003 Korea Times [Link] reports that the Seoul National University (SNU) baseball team has lost 171 straight games since the college started playing baseball in 1977. SNU once had a 5-2 lead into the top of the eigth inning, but lost 6-5 in a game with Yonsei University in 1986.

The May 23, 2003 Korea Times [Link] reports on Thursday's KBO games.

Samsung Lions 4 - Hanwha Eagles 3:
Tilson Brito tied the game in the eigth inning with a solo home run, and Kang Dong-woo doubled in the game winning run in the ninth inning to beat the Eagles in Taejon.

Hyundai Unicorns 6 - LG Twins 5:
Park Jong-ho's ninth inning single drove in the game winning run to slip past the Twins in Chamsil. Lee Soong-yong blasted a seventh inning two-run homer and Kim Dong-soo also hit a two-run homer to tie the game in the eighth inning. Lee Byung-gyu's third inning grand slam home run was not enough to hold down the Unicorns. Cho Yong-joon pitched a scoreless ninth inning to earn his 15th save of 2003.

SK Wyverns 5 - Doosan Bears 3:
Cho Kyung-hwan's two-run homer was part of a four run sixth inning that beat the Bears in Inchon. Chae Byung-ryong (5-0) struck out five batters and yielded three runs in six innings to pick up the victory.

Kia Tigers 7 - Lotte Giants 5:
Former Chunichi Dragon Lee Jong-beom hit a solo home run to contribute to the Tigers' 13 hit attack for the win over the Giants in Kwangju.

The May 25, 2003 Korea Times [Link] higlights Saturday's KBO action.

Kia Tigers 9 - Samsung Lions 8:
Lee Hyun-kon doubled in the winning run in the the bottom of the ninth to beat the Lions in Kwangju. Lee Seung-yeop hit his 17th home run of 2003. Lee Kang-chul (5-1) earned the victory pitching to only one batter. Noh Jang-jin (4-2) took the loss for Samsung.

Kai Tigers - Samsung Lions:
Second game postponed due to rain.

SK Wyverns 16 - Hyundai Unicorns 0:
Lee Ho-joon drove in five runs with two home runs and hit 4-for-5 to help demolish the Unicorns. The Wyverns amassed 24 hits in the first game of a twin-bill in Suwon.

Sk Wyverns 7 - Hyundai Unicorns 5:
Lee Ho-joon was also the star of the second game by blasting a ninth inning two-run homer while compiling another five RBIs and hitting 3-for-4. Cho Ung-chun picked up his 13th save. Cho Yong-joon (0-3) took the loss.
