ヤクルト大学・社会人ドラフト１巡目の加藤幹典投手（２２＝慶大）が、上々の実戦デビューを果たした。２１日の練習試合・サムスン（韓国）戦に先発。落ち着いたマウンドさばきで、危なげなく２回を被安打１の無失点に抑えた。最後の打者はカウント２－０から、捕手のサインに２度首を振って、縦のスライダーで見逃し三振に打ち取る余裕も見せた。「ゼロで抑えていけば、自ずと結果もついてくる」と笑顔で話し、開幕からの先発ローテーション入りにも、自信の一端をのぞかせた。
