落合中日が、原巨人に３連勝で２年連続日本シリーズ進出を決めた。クライマックスシリーズ（ＣＳ）第２ステージ。レギュラーシーズンは２位に終わり、丸刈りにして出直した落合博満監督（５３）が見事な采配をみせ、巨人につけいるすきを与えなかった。中日はＣＳ負けなしの５連勝だ。２７日に開幕する日本シリーズは昨年に続き、パ・リーグ覇者日本ハムとの戦いになる。昨年は敗れたが、今年こそ１９５４年以来、５３年ぶりの日本一を取りに行く。
