原巨人にまた孝行息子が現れた。野間口貴彦投手（２４）がプロ入り初の「９回完投勝利」を飾り、横浜に７－１と快勝。デーゲームで大勝していた首位中日に食らいついた。前夜（２１日）は負傷欠場の阿部の代役加藤がプロ初アーチ。この夜は３年目右腕が貴重な白星を挙げた。巨人の完投投手は７月２７日の内海以来、約２カ月ぶりで、フル回転しているリリーフ陣にも休養を与えた。２４日からは中日と今季最後の天王山。逆転Ｖへ、投打がガッチリとかみ合ってきた。
