さあ待望の優勝マジックが点灯する。中日は広島に１２－３と大勝し、２１日に奪回した首位の座をガッチリとキープした。先発中田が５回途中ＫＯも２番手石井が好救援。同点の６回には谷繁の２点適時打、代打井上の２点三塁打で一挙４点で勝ち越し。７回にも再び谷繁が満塁の走者一掃と今季自己最多の１試合５打点を挙げ、試合を決めた。中継ぎ＆ベテランの活躍でチームは３連勝。２３日にもマジック「８」点灯と、球団初の連覇へオレ竜が加速してきた。
