楽天は２試合連続のゼロ敗で２５イニング連続無得点となった。１７日は西武の帆足、この日は武田勝と２日続けて左腕に手玉に取られ、野村監督は「左は打てんなあ」とタメ息をついた。７回を投げた武田勝から放った安打は単打２本だけ。２死球があったが、四球は選べなかった。淡泊な打線に指揮官は「これがいまのチーム力。やっぱり弱いわ」と吐き捨てるようにコメンとした。
