横浜は守りの乱れから自滅。「相手に点をやっちゃった。とんでもない試合になったね」と大矢監督もあきれ顔だった。先発・寺原が、一回無死一塁からバント処理を焦って悪送球。前回登板した８月２８日と同様のミスでピンチを広げ、あっさり先制点を許すと、暴投に捕逸、失策…。ミスの連鎖は止まらず、この回３点を失った。緊張感のない試合に進藤内野守備走塁コーチは「ぶざまだ」とバッサリ。後味の悪い敗戦となった。
