２戦連発で「ガリバー賞」最有力と思われた、全セ・ヤクルト・ラミレスが落選した。８回のコールド直前に、代打２ランと勝負強さを発揮。第１戦のＭＶＰに続き、文句なしの結果を出したが「僕が決めることじゃない。もうオールスターは終わったこと」。マネジャーに車のプレゼントを約束していたこともあって、不満げな様子を隠せなかった。横浜クルーンらに「ショウガナイ」と肩をたたかれ、慰められた。
