日本ハムが広島に快勝し、初の交流戦優勝へ、マジックを１とした。交流戦１２試合に登板して２勝１敗７ホールドの武田久投手（２８）を筆頭に、投手陣が１２球団一の防御率２・０４でチームをけん引。広島戦も先発のルーキー吉川から押本、江尻とつなぎ、最後は武田久が締めくくった。リーグ制覇、日本一、アジア王者に輝いた昨年もつかめなかったタイトルは、もう手の届くところにある。
