「雪～は～降る～」という前夜の楽天野村監督の「鼻歌天気予報」は大外れ。５月最後の試合は、雪ではなく、４本塁打を含む１４安打と猛打の雨あられを浴びた。野村監督は「今日は雪降ったか？ 降らなかったじゃん。今日は雨が降ればよかったのにな」と本物の天気予報では雷雨だったこともあり、雨天中止の方がましだったとボヤいた。
