広島打線が乱調黒田を救った。４回までに５点のリードをもらいながら、今季最短の５回途中で５失点ＫＯされた。だが打線は７回に新井の１４号ソロで勝ち越し、８回梵の２号２ラン、９回石原の適時打でダメ押し。１５安打１０得点と横浜に打ち勝った。ブラウン監督は「黒田が投げていて、まさかこういう展開になるとはね。打線がよく頑張ってくれた」と満足そうだった。
