横浜が３連勝で２０勝に到達した。デーゲームで４連勝中だった先発土肥義弘投手（３０）が広島打線を７回途中まで３失点に抑える好投で、ハーラートップタイの５勝目。打線も３回に６連打で相手先発佐々岡をＫＯし、主導権を握った。開幕から３４試合以内での２０勝は大洋時代の７２年（３２試合）以来で、球団史上５位のスピード。横浜スタジアムでは４月２１日から９連勝で、本拠地デーゲームでは８勝１敗と強さを発揮している。
