西武の選手が試合前、長野のファンと触れあった。試合前練習を終えた選手全員が球場の正面入り口に登場。ファンが一列に並び、その横を選手が通り過ぎながらハイタッチした。年に１度の長野シリーズだけに地元の西武ファンにとってはうれしい試み。「カブレラの手すごい大きかったねえ」「選手がたくさん見られてよかったね」などと興奮を口にするファンの姿があちこちで見られた。
