佐野日大（栃木）のエース出井優太投手（２年）が、開会式直後の開幕戦で完封勝利を飾った。自己最多の１３三振を奪い、大牟田打線を４安打に抑えた。「力まずに自分のピッチングができた。低めに集めることを意識しました」と笑顔を見せた。打撃陣も１１安打７得点でエースを援護。松本弘司監督（５５）は「バックも良く守ってくれた」と喜んだ。
