常葉学園菊川（静岡）が、春夏合わせ３度目の甲子園で初勝利をマークした。２－１で迎えた９回表無死二塁、田中健二朗投手（３年）から戸狩聡希投手（２年）への左腕リレーがぴたりと決まった。森下知幸監督（４６）は「同点は覚悟したが戸狩が思った以上に頑張った」と評価していた。
