Should have taken the invite. If there is a ball club that loves the veteran presence, it's my SF Giants. Brian Sabean and Bruce Bochy are always on the look-out for a guy primed for a comeback season, ala Matt Herges and Jason Christianson in years past.
This Leaves the door open for Yabu. All he needs to do is pitch halfway decent in Scottsdale and he's in. The pen is just too shallow, and all our minor league guys still have options with the exception of Eric Threets and Merkin Valdez who are looking at the waiver wire if sent to Fresno.
Bad Move Kim. Good luck on landing that Major League contract.

Looks like Kim got his contract after all [Post Gazette].
The Pirates this morning reached agreement on financial terms of a contract with free-agent pitcher Byung-Hyun Kim, though the process will not be complete until he has a physical. It is a major-league deal, but no other details were known.
