With Joe Mauer on third and Torii Hunter on first after a pair of singles, Okajima got a huge 3rd-strike call on 2006 AL MVP Justin Morneau for one out, then got out of the jam inducing a double play on Michael Cuddyer.
Okajima, who had been shut down for 2 weeks with a tired arm, promptly said after the game, "I got lucky." Okajima's 5th save of the season, coupled with a Cleveland Indians loss, means that the Red Sox have clinched the best record in MLB, and will host the Los Angels of Anaheim in the American League Divisional Series.
