Slugging It Out In Japan

Slugging It Out In Japan
Robert Whiting co-authored this 1991 book by Warren Cromartie, and it is a worthy companion to his three principal tomes ("Chrysanthemum," "Wa," and "Ichiro"). It's a good and quick read, somewhat reminiscent in style to Sparky Lyle's "Bronx Zoo" in its chronological account of the seasons Cromartie played for the Yomiuri Giants (1984-90).

The only real news I have to offer here is my delight in easily finding a pristine copy through the net, at Powells Used and Rare Books.

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
