There is no single official manufacturer. Each team may choose from a selection of officially stamped (from the Commissioner's Office) baseballs from a number of manufacturers for their home games. The balls themselves have to meet certain standards not limited to a bounce test, weight, and size. It's my understanding that the size is slightly smaller than the MLB baseballs.

Many, many years ago, Kintetsu was accused of using a ball that had more bounce than others. If memory serves me right, nothing ever came of it as they all had the official seal of the Commissioner's Office, which naturally meant that they were all within the specified parameters. Of course, would the Commissioner's Office want it be known that they stamped some balls without properly putting them through the tests? I don't think so. So any talk of using a rabbit ball was surely put to rest quickly.

Why do Japanese baseballs have more pop than Major League baseballs? What are the Japanese baseballs made of that the Major League baseballs aren't made of?
