This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.
It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.

I would love to hear your opinion on this. I am not sure if you are aware of this, but since last year, there have been numerous reports out of Seattle chronicling the supposed clubhouse turmoil centered around other players' animosity toward Ichiro and his "selfish" playing style. An anonymous player even threatened to "knock him out." A few links to check out regarding this story:

As a longtime observer of the sport in Japan, can you tell us if you know what Ichiro's reputation is like among his peers in Japan? Have there been reports or suggestions that Ichiro is a selfish and difficult character, or would such things be kept hush-hush due to the tremendous respect the Japanese players/fans/reporters have for Ichiro and his achievements in baseball worldwide?
