Did Jose Leon Sign in Japan?
Just wanted know if Jose Leon signed with a team in Japan. He plays for Baltimore.

Today's Nikkan Sports reports that Chunichi's Mori-pitching coach is headed to Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, and Venezuela to take in some Winter League ball in search of new foreign players.
Also mentioned was Hanshin holding a tryout for Venezualian Darwin Cubian (sp?) from the Oriols' AAA Otowa team. He appears to have a good shot at signing with the Tigers.
Otherwise, Hanshin and Chunichi are starting a bidding war on Yokohama's Tyrone Woods. Yokohama offered 2.2-oku yen for one year, Chunichi followed with 6-oku for two years, and Hanshin raised that to 7-oku yen over two years. The BayStars really need to get over not giving multi-year contracts to foreign players if they want to keep some around long.

Leon, was taken off the Orioles' 40-man roster. Leon refused assignment to AAA Ottawa and became a free agent, but I haven't see him name pop up in Japan.
