Old Baseball Equipment

Discussion in the Ask the Commish forum
Old Baseball Equipment
I collect old baseball equipment, mostly baseball gloves from 1895 to about 1950. I have had a few Japanese gloves, Giant and Cragstan, but these are fairly modern, about late 1950s early 1960s. In Smithsonian Magazine there was a story about Americans teaching baseball to Japanese as early as the 1870s, so that means you have been playing almost as long as us. In the article there is a photo of an 1870s Japanese umpire wearing the old Japanese clothes, like a Samurai.

My question is this; Is there a way I can buy old Japanese baseball equipment and photos from 1880-1920s? Is there some historical information on Japanese baseball equipment manufacturers? Who was the first Japanese manufacturer?
