Can Anyone Help me Identify a Jersey?
I recently got a jersey that I was told it was from Japan. I was wondering if anybody could help me out? I have a picture up on my MSN spaces page, please visit and either leave a comment on that page or right here. Thanks in advance.

Maybe someone can identify this jersey. Remember, there are thousands of amateur teams in Japan as in the USA.

I've warned Americans for over 20 years of spending money on jerseys that some dealers will say is "pro" but are actually some local team.

Good luck.

I completely understand, but hopefully I can get the jersey identified. I got it because it is unique and not for collectability.

This may be a bit off topic, but I am looking for unopened baseball card packs. Any more information would also be appriciated.

Thanks for getting back to me.

Can you get some better pictures of the jerseys? The first one is really hard to tell whether the letters are ROR, KOR, KOK, ROK? Can you post larger pictures, including front and back?

I did a quick search on Hakata baseball jerseys, and I couldn't find anything. If I search Hakata pro baseball, everything comes up SoftBank Hawks. One theory I have is that the uniforms might be either high school, or a kusayakyuu team (see the Play Ball! section for more info on that).

You might also want to look through Gary Garland's site on the old history of teams pages, to see if any of the old jerseys correspond to your pictures. Hakata is in Fukuoka, which is where SoftBank plays, so there might be something there.

Thanks.

I don't know about the Hakata one, but the BlueWave jersey you've got there is definitely a knock off. That's the old Orix BlueWave script, but in the wrong colors. The name on the back is in Korean.

A million thanks, I was just looking into the jersey and from what I have been researching that something was wrong with the BlueWave jersey. None of the footage I have been watching was showing any jersey that looked like that BlueWave one. I did notice that the correct BlueWave jersey looked different. So as far as that jersey go thanks to this message board I'm not going to buy it. Thanks ladies and gents.

I finally got some new pictures up of the jersey that has KOK on it. Upon detailed inspection I found some writing on the inside of the jersey which may help but who knows. Thanks.

Well that looks like "Nakayama 192" - Nakayama being a common Japanese surname, and there are a number of towns called Nakayama, too.

Thanks. I also have new pictures of the Hakata jersey online. The colors look like they belong to a farm team for the Giants, just a guess based on the color scheme. Have the Giants ever held a farm team in Hakata? Like it was suggested before, maybe a high school team? Thanks for looking and helping me out.

The Giants have one farm team, and they wear exactly the same uniform as the top team. From my experience, frankly, I think it's likely to belong to an amateur team. Or a high school team. I think you can rule out the possibility of it being from the pros.
