Nice Article About Tuffy Rhodes in the Japan Times
Here's a nice article about Tuffy Rhodes in today's Japan Times. It's great to see Tuffy having such a great season. NPB needs more people like him. Let's hope he continues to rake the rest of the season.

You know, I was remembering the Ken Griffey Jr. special we had here last night in Seattle and saw Tuffy's picture. They don't have similar batting stances, and Griffey's defense was way better in his prime, but their follow through is very similar. I forgot that Tuffy is also from Cincinnati. They really have a few parallels, though Tuffy's career was, of course, mostly in Japan.

So considering how great Tuffy has been in Japan, any amateur scouts here want to break down why exactly he's done so well in Japan instead of America? My theory is that there are way more breaking ball pitchers in Japan and Tuffy is a master at hitting breaking balls. You usually see the exact opposite with American batters in that they're always waiting on the fastball.
